During this series, we will be challenged to consider the ways in which we live out our faith, and what things Jesus would want us to change.

"I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!

By far the most dangerous foe we have to fight is apathy - indifference from whatever cause, not from a lack of knowledge, but from carelessness, from absorption in other pursuits, from a contempt bred of self-satisfaction.

Two Causes Of Spiritual Indifference:

1. Self-SUFFICIENCY

Revelation 3:17
You say, 'I am rich. I have everything I want. I don't need a thing!' And you don't realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

2. DISTRACTIONS Of This World

but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.

Steps To Avoiding Spiritual Indifference:

Live for God-not to please men

Luke 6:26
What sorrow awaits you who are praised by the crowds, for their ancestors also praised false prophets.

Seek Him Daily

Luke 9:23 (NLT)

Then he said to the crowd, "If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me."

Matthew 5:14
"You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

Revelation 3:19-20
I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference. "Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.

Thank you Heavenly Father for pursuing me in relationship. I know, Lord, that I can allow self-sufficiency and the distractions of this world to make me a lukewarm follower. Help me, Lord, to undo those things in my life that make me indifferent, and give me the strength to wake up every day in full reliance on you.
